This month's lunar phases
New moon, quarters and full moon set the rhythm of our satellite's cycle of roughly 29.5 days.
First quarter in Cancer
Momentum takes shape: it is time to fine-tune your plans and take action.
Full moon in Libra
The light is at its peak: a time to harvest, to celebrate and to release what has run its course.
Last quarter in Aquarius
A time for sorting and gratitude, to lighten your everyday life before the next cycle.
New moon in Taurus
A blank-page moment: the ideal time to set an intention and plant an idea.
Eclipses
Eclipses are intensified lunations, traditionally associated with turning points and moments of realisation.
No eclipse this month: a sky that favours continuity.
Retrogrades
Seen from Earth, a planet sometimes appears to move backwards: a time better suited to reviewing than to big launches.
Mercury stations direct in Pisces
The themes of Mercury (communication, contracts, travel and technology) flow more easily again.
Venus stations direct in Pisces
The themes of Venus (relationships and personal values) flow more easily again.
The Sun changes sign
Each month, the Sun enters a new sign and colours the collective mood with a fresh energy.
The Sun enters Taurus
Taurus season begins: its qualities (stability, sensuality, patience) colour the collective mood.
Retrograde planets in mid-April
None of the personal and social planets (Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn) is retrograde: the sky encourages momentum and fresh starts.
How to use the moon calendar
The Moon has always been a way of marking time. In astrology, its cycle offers a simple framework for attuning your plans to an energy that builds, peaks and then recedes.
- New moon: set an intention, write down a wish, start small. It is time to sow.
- Waxing moon: move forward step by step, nurture what you have started, reach out, be bold.
- Full moon: take stock, celebrate your progress and let go of what no longer serves you.
- Waning moon: sort, tidy, finish. An ideal time to lighten your everyday life before the next cycle.
Look at the sign the Moon is passing through, too: it sets the emotional tone of the days (more drive in Fire, more practicality in Earth, more connection in Air, more sensitivity in Water).
